In Kingsville, Texas home of King Ranch, Naval Air Station Kingsville, and Texas A&M University Kingsville there is an abundance of unique character and undeniable charm.
In a town of more than 25,000 people are close. The community is tight knit. The high school seniors have a reputation of all knowing each other and supporting one another which is why in May of this year when one of their own couldn’t make it to graduation they took graduation to him.
High school student Alvaro Saenz was being treated for an injury to his right foot at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg. He would not be recovered in time to attend his graduation.
So in a move of solidarity the graduation was brought to him! Alvaro watched the graduation ceremony through live-stream during an impromptu ceremony in the hospital’s second floor waiting room. And, then family, friends, Santa Gertrudis Independent School District board members, faculty and administration later gathered at the hospital to present Saenz with his high school diploma and to celebrate his graduation.
Dressed in his cap, gown, the National Honor Society and academic ribbons, Alvaro received his diploma from Academy High School principal and interim superintendent Les Dragon.
Congratulations to the graduate, and thank you to the CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg Associates who helped make this special ceremony happen!
