Thursday, February 1, 2018, was not just another day at the office for CHRISTUS Health Associates. In many ways, it wasn’t routine in the clinical hallways, waiting rooms or patient care areas either. February 1 is a day of special celebration for CHRISTUS Health. It is CHRISTUS Day when CHRISTUS celebrates the creation of our international Catholic health system whose regional ministries respond to the daily health needs of hundreds of communities in the United States, Mexico, Chile and Colombia. CHRISTUS Health is sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of Houston and of San Antonio, and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. CHRISTUS Health is comprised of more than 600 services and facilities, including more than 60 hospitals and long term care facilities, 350 clinics and outpatient centers, and dozens of other health ministries and ventures. Together, as ONE CHRISTUS, we are:

In FY 2017, the ministries of CHRISTUS Health:

• Encountered God’s healing presence in the lives
  of more than 1.5 million neighbors and friends
• Delivered more than 24,000 new lives into the world
• Responded to more than 1 million ER visitors
• Provided bedside care to more than 223,000 patients
• Performed more than 67,000 Inpatient Surgeries
• Performed more than 108,000 Outpatient Surgeries

At the CHRISTUS Health System headquarters in Irving, Texas, approximately 100 Associates gathered for a special prayer service. The time spent together was full of music, prayer and encouragement as Associates could reflect on the growth CHRISTUS Health has experienced and just how important the organization has become in the lives we are honored to serve.
