It has become an annual tradition, and one of the best parts of the year at CHRISTUS Health. At the start of summer, CHRISTUS welcomes school aged children and their families into the system office in Irving, Texas for the official CHRISTUS Health Golf Scholarships Presentation.
Finding a place in a Catholic school classroom for deserving students is something that’s important to CHRISTUS and one of the reasons why the health system chooses to be a title sponsor for the Bishop’s Invitational.
The September golf tournament at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas is one of the biggest and best charity golf events in the Dallas Metroplex.
The money raised helps children like Gabriella, Jesus, Anthony, Perla and Rose. The group of young people and their parents and educators were on hand to receive their awards and meet Ernie Sadau, CHRISTUS Health’s CEO and President.
Ernie told the group of young people he hopes they will consider a career in health care or–even better–become a leader in health care at CHRISTUS.
“We are always looking to add Associates with integrity and character, which includes many of those who have the wonderful foundation that is a great Catholic school education,” said Ernie.
The Superintendent of the Catholic Schools of Dallas, Dr. Matt Vereeck, was also on hand and thanked CHRISTUS and others for their support.
The Catholic School Diocese and the Bishop’s Invitational committee members recognized CHRISTUS with a beautiful HALO Initiative Award in recognition of CHRISTUS Health’s 5 year support of the Bishop’s Invitational.
“The road to college and Heaven is not always straight but ultimately if we let the light of Christ shine through us great things happen,” said Vereeck. “Those of us in the Catholic Schools in Dallas have two goals for every student: college and heaven. Thanks for helping us reach those goals.”
