It is not often that you see hospital leaders riding in the bed of a pickup to greet their cheering team. But, today was a special occasion. The group was returning from the official kickoff of the 2019 Top Workplaces announcement by the San Antonio Express-News.

The only hospital to make the list, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio held a spirited pep rally to celebrate being one of only 18 exceptional San Antonio companies to stand out above all the rest.

“The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is made up of a great team– a great team getting things done,” explained Cris Daskovich, CEO of  The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio “The way we work together to take care of the women and children of our community– like they are part of our family is something we all should be so proud of. We are truly a family. A family who is here for each other through tough times and when it’s time to celebrate.”

And, celebrate this team did. The honor of 2019 Best Workplace comes at a great time when the CHRISTUS team in San Antonio is celebrating both a 150 anniversary of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa and a 60 anniversary of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

We have a fantastic workforce of very dedicated Associates who enjoy the work they do, who live out our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, and carry out the legacy established by our founding and sponsoring congregations,” said Dr. Charles Hankins, President and Chief Medical Officer of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio was the only hospital in San Antonio to receive this honor which was determined by Associate surveys. Those survey responses covered several areas including how well the team works towards a common cause.
