What a COVID-19 Vaccination Hub Looks Like in East Texas

Have you heard of My Shot Now?

If you live in the East Texas area, maybe so.

CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System was named a COVID-19 Vaccination Hub by the State of Texas to serve Gregg County in late January 2021.

The team waited not a second longer to roll out the red carpet and encourage anyone who could to roll up their sleeves. It was exciting news for CHRISTUS Good Shepherd and their partners with the City of Longview and Gregg County. They jointly announced the community-wide My Shot Now campaign to vaccinate as many eligible East Texans as possible. They got to work. They were honored to accept the responsibility of fulfilling as quickly as possible the need for the community.

Todd Hancock, President and Chief Executive Officer of CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System says this: “Our goal has always been for the community o be able to easily get a COVID-19 vaccination as soon as large quantities of the vaccine were available.”

The team’s work was recently documented in this video which showcases what was said from the beginning and what ultimately came to life: There’s nothing we can’t do when we work together.

Wild Texas weather and quick demand has certainly kept the team on their toes, but this group continues to be ready to serve all those they can.
